Floor graphics

Printed anti slip floor graphics for wayfinding, promotion, safety marking and social distancing, rated for the traffic the floor actually gets. See our guide for more detail.

The surface everybody looks at

Floor graphics work because people look down when they walk, particularly in unfamiliar buildings. They are useful for directional routing where wall space is unavailable, for safety marking around plant, and for promotion in retail.

They are also the most demanding application in terms of wear, so the laminate specification matters more than the print. An unrated laminate in a busy entrance will be scuffed within weeks.

Before you order

Floor graphics must carry an anti slip rating appropriate to the location, and applying an unrated film to a circulation route creates a liability rather than solving a problem. Floor type also decides feasibility: sealed hard floors take vinyl well, unsealed concrete and most carpets do not.

What we need to quote

  • Floor construction and finish, and whether it is sealed
  • Location and how much foot traffic it takes
  • How long the graphic needs to last
  • Artwork and sizes

Specification

Anti slip laminate

Rated for the location. Non negotiable on any circulation route.

Sealed hard floors

Vinyl, tile, sealed concrete and wood all take floor graphics well.

Carpet graphics

Specific carpet film required; standard floor vinyl will not adhere.

Expected life

Three to twelve months in heavy traffic, longer in low traffic areas.

Removal

Lifts cleanly from sealed floors. We check the floor at survey before quoting.

Common questions

Are floor graphics slippery?

They must carry an anti slip rating appropriate to the location. Applying an unrated film to a circulation route creates a liability rather than solving a problem.

What floors can take graphics?

Sealed hard floors take vinyl well: vinyl, tile, sealed concrete and wood. Unsealed concrete will not hold it, and carpet needs a specific carpet film.

How long do floor graphics last?

Three to twelve months in heavy traffic, considerably longer in low traffic areas. The laminate specification matters more than the print.
