Health, safety and statutory signage

Fire, escape, hazard and statutory notices produced to the relevant standards and positioned at survey rather than guessed, across offices, schools and industrial premises. See our guide for more detail.

The signage you do not get to choose

Statutory signage is governed rather than optional. Fire action notices, escape route marking, hazard warnings, first aid and assembly point signage all have to meet recognised standards, and the positions are determined by the building and the risk assessment rather than by preference.

Most premises we survey have some combination of missing, faded, obstructed or incorrectly positioned safety signage, usually because it has been bought piecemeal from a catalogue over several years.

Before you order

Photoluminescent escape signage has a service life and loses performance as it ages. Signage that looks present and correct can still fail an inspection if it no longer charges. Where a building has not been reviewed for some years it is worth surveying the whole set rather than replacing individual signs.

What we need to quote

  • A floor plan, or the ability to survey the premises
  • Your fire risk assessment if one exists
  • Whether escape routes need photoluminescent marking
  • Any site specific hazards or plant
A clean commercial corridor fire exit with correctly styled green running-person emergency exit sign above the door and a small blue 'Fire door keep shut' plaque, realistic commercial safety signage photograph.

Common questions

What safety signage is a building required to display?

Fire action notices, escape route marking, final exit signage, hazard and mandatory warnings, and first aid and assembly point signage, all to recognised standards and positioned by the risk assessment.

Does photoluminescent escape signage expire?

It has a service life and loses performance as it ages. Signage that looks present and correct can still fail an inspection if it no longer charges.

Can you survey our existing safety signage?

Yes. We can survey the premises and return a schedule of what is missing, faded, obstructed or incorrectly positioned.

Need statutory signage reviewed?

We can survey the premises and come back with a schedule of what is missing, faded or incorrectly positioned.
